The Shaka Guide was by far the best purchase I made for my trip to Kauai! I had several reservations made for some different adventures so I wasn’t sure how many of the 4 tours I would be able to use, but I found that I was able to use the tours before and after because of the flexibility of the app and the ability to start from anywhere along the route. I was able to complete all 4 tours over my 5 full days on the island. I was traveling by myself so it felt like I had someone always with me because Shaka was keeping me company. I know I got to see so many things that I never would have seen otherwise. Not only did I see the sites, but there were restaurant and shopping suggestions as well! I loved getting to hear so many interesting stories and the history of the island.

We're so glad we did this! This is the first time we used this app and had some trouble at first, but we figured it out at no time. We loved the stories and histories od the island (legends), and of course the local music that kept us entertained during the drive. The directions are on point and pretty accurate except for one - the direction to Makauwahi cave. We got lost, went back to where we're told to make a turn and followed a different sign to the cave and found it! We did the tour on our own pace, really loved it!!

This was our first time on Kauai, and though we spent most of the time in Hanalei, we wanted to take one day and do a drive around the island, hitting the high points (using all 4 Kauai tours). We went from Hanalei to viewing Niihau at sunset. We had a little trouble with syncing the app with the fact that we were taking the tour in the opposite direction of the app, but we/I eventually figured it out. We enjoyed the local flavor of the narrator and my teenager it still joking about the "eh, brah" expression.The history and stories were terrific. We did stop at a couple of food stops and were not disappointed.
