Kailua Beach Park
Kailua Beach is where we launch our kayaks and land upon return. Its well known for being one of the most family friendly beaches on Oahu.

Lanikai Beach
Paddle along Lanikai Beach, one of the top rated beaches in the world, famed for its soft white sand, turquoise water and great snorkeling.

Mokulua Islands
(*If Self-Guided, the itinerary is flexible.) The final destination is Moku Nui of the famed Twin Islands. This is a bird nesting sanctuary that requires special permission to visit. Hawaiian monk seals are often basking on the beach and sea turtles feed on the coral reefs around the islands. Start off with a short hike to Queen's Bath tide pool and take the plunge into a salt water jacuzzi with a view. Hike back and go for a snorkel, searching for our sea turtle friends and schools of tropical fish. After this you've certainly earned your lunch so we break out a picnic and munch while watching the waves and the incredible view of the Ko'Olau Mountains. Native sea birds cruise overhead and your guide's tell the tales of Hawaiian explorers that traveled these waters.

We did the Twin Islands Guided Kayak Tour (5.5 hours) when we visited in January and had an awesome time. Special shout-out to our tour guide, Maggie! We opted for the guided tour as it felt safer than trying to navigate by ourselves around the "danger zone" in the waters, and we have no regrets; the wind and waves did feel pretty strong as we were heading out to the Mokulua Islands, and Maggie's kayak was a helpful reference when we started to veer off-track. Maggie's help was also much appreciated when we had to launch our kayak from shore. The guided tour was limited to 8 people total and included a short walking tour and lunch on the Twin Islands (a sandwich, potato chips, Oreos, bottled water, and Hawaiian Sun). The company also provided snorkeling gear, but we decided not to snorkel at the Mokes since the water looked quite choppy. Another perk of the tour was that we had the option to use any of their bikes or snorkel gear for the rest of the day after the tour. Several in our group decided to take the bikes out for a spin and head towards Lanikai Beach nearby, which is known for great snorkeling. I recommend the Twin Islands Guided Kayak Tour and would return to Kailua Beach Adventures for more rentals next time I'm in the area.

Mike was the most amazing tour guide! He took amazing photos and was so motivating through the whole entire kayak! Loved this and would 100% do it again!

I booked the kayak trip with snorkel to the Mokes as a solo traveler. I had initially booked for 9am, but they reached out and asked if I had a time preference. I said I was flexible and they put me in the 11am group which was great as it gave me time to lounge before the paddle. I also appreciate that they paired me with another solo kayaker because that trip would have been a workout on my own! Isaac was our guide and he was fantastic, knowledgeable and very patient. He told great stories, gave us tips on what to do on the island the rest of our time and really make me fall in love with Kailua. I will 100% book another paddle with KBA. They were organized, professional and safe to work with. I can’t speak highly enough about my experience.
