Join us aboard our luxurious 50’ catamaran “Kona Style”, as we sail the Kona coast. Scan the horizon for dolphins and whales (seasonal) from our shaded cabin or sunny splash nets. Snorkel calm waters and lush coral gardens using our grand staircase for the easiest water entry/exit in the industry. Brilliant reef fish, sea turtles and Hawaiian storytelling around every corner. This executive adventure includes a continental breakfast with 100% Kona coffee, freshly baked banana bread and seasonal fruit, along with a build your own sandwich bar with chips, pasta salad and freshly baked cookies for lunch. All non-alcoholic beverages including water, juice and soft drinks are complimentary and we have the best liquor prices of any boat in Kona with beer, wine and liquor available for purchase at only $5 per drink. All snorkel equipment, floaties and instruction provided.

Guests that will be snorkeling or getting in the water during the tour MUST KNOW HOW TO SWIM without the assistance of a flotation device
If guest is not a competent swimmer (as determined by the Captain and/or crew), they will be directed to immediately return to the vessel. In such instances the guest will NOT be refunded
Children under the age of 5 are required to stay on boat (not allowed in the water) and must be accompanied by an adult at all times on the vessel

We had a really great snorkeling experience with Kona Style. The catamaran is not too big (like some other, double-decker boats) nor is it too small and exposed (like some inflatable outboards)--it's the Goldilocks choice for Kealakekua snorkeling. Captain Tanner set the tone for the trip with enough info for newbies to stay safe on board, plus good tips for first-time snorkelers. The 3 other crew were super-helpful in assisting us with a continental breakfast-style snack (fresh chopped fruit, croissants muffins, coffee, juice) and snorkel gear. The snorkeling was excellent, and Capt Tanner directed me to go to the point first and work my way back. This was invaluable advice as I got to see the length of the reef and a ton of colorful and unusual fish. We had simple but tasty sandwiches, chips and a pasta salad on the way back and made a couple of brief but interesting stops. One of the crew gave us some details on a collapsed lava tube that was open to the sea, and also on the Kaneaka sledding course used by Hawaiian elites. The crew will make you a tasty mai tai if you like for an additional charge--it was tasty. Overall the crew was professional yet lighthearted, clearly focused on ensuring the health and welfare of the passengers, and gave us a short lesson on area geology and archaeology. We were very happy with our experience and recommend Kona Style with out hesitation.
