We came in with a cruise. Ketchikan Kayak Co was easily spotted in port with a clear sign. The bus ride was fairly short to a facility on the outskirts of town where there is a marina and bike rentals. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating.
I had ridden E bikes before and my family is pretty athletic and active overall, so the learning curve was minimal. The weather was perfect- 75 and sunny, so our biking conditions were ideal. Rain would have been a real bummer. Unfortunately there was an older lady in her 70's that thought she could do the biking portion, but wiped out early on. She only had minor. scratches on her, but I'm sure she was pretty bruised the next couple of days. Word of caution, e-bikes with throttles are not like standard peddle bikes and do require a certain amount of stability and strength so think about this before booking.
The hike was serene and informative out to the waterfront. The young guides were very personable and engaging. Our family felt like the hiking would have been better if it was more of a challenge and 30-60 minutes longer. When you come off a cruise, you're eager to stretch your legs and get back in nature. Overall, we enjoyed this tour.
