Captain William met us right at our cruise boat and the office had plenty of communication prior to us meeting. He took us right to his brand new fishing boat where his black lab, Bo, met us! Both of them were extremely friendly and easygoing. We even got to visit his Alaskan “man cave”. My dad, sister and I were the only ones on this 6 hour Halibut/Salmon excursion and it literally felt as though we were taking ourselves out to fish in Alaska - just with some new friends. Captain Willam knew exactly where to take us to catch some great fish and was very helpful with the process, but he also let us be independent when we felt comfortable (baiting our own hooks/reeling the tough fish/driving the boat (not sure if I was to say that but I do have my boating license lol)). He was also very knowledgeable as well about the state and the fish. The ugliest fish, the Rockfish, he said was the most delicious- we are taking his word for it! The only suggestions I have is advertising this exact excursion separately with the accurate price (it is not $199, it is a little higher) and give estimates of how much processing and shipping the fish is going to be (we don’t really know but did it anyway). Nevertheless, well worthy the money and the afternoon spent at sea!

We really enjoyed our fishing excursion with William. He only took us out for halibut fishing as the salmon fishing wasn't good. Caught halibut, rock fish, cod. Would highly recommend him. Was very personable and wandered the boat talking to each of us.

The guide was 45 minutes late to pick us up. He was supposed to arrive at 6am and didn’t show up until 6:45 and the phone number didn’t work. Then, it was supposed to be a 4 hour fishing trip. It was more like a 2.5 hour fishing trip and he said “there’s no fish, let’s go back”- he had returned us to the ship after 4 hours. Waste of time and money.
