Captain and van driver were very nice. But we paid for a 4 hrs fishing and only got 2.5 hrs. The van driver picked us up at 1123 knowing our ship leaves at 430. It’s a 30-35 min drive to fishing boats from cruise port. Once we got to our boat we waited another 10 mi. For our captain, the other charter packed and left and apparently took the better fishing spot. After 1.5 hrs had to request the captain move to another spot. I’m a seasoned fisherman not a novice who was looking to catch my first any kind fish! I was expecting a better effort from captain and van driver. Problem with tourist charters they know you are leaving on a cruise never to return. Typical tourist trap, not worth $1,600

We are sorry you didn't enjoy the charter We always hope everyone has a good experience It is unfortunate you were in town on such a poor weather day The Captain was not able to fish where they usually do, since the winds there were blowing 40 mph He did the best he could to ensure you caught fish, which you did Your charter was from 12-4, and the shuttle got you to the marina on time We would have kept you out fishing until 4 but at your request the shuttle was asked to pick you back up at 3:30 to get back to your ship, which we did Hopefully if you make it back to Ketchikan the weather and the fish will cooperate, and you will have a longer stay so that you won't be rushed

I am kind of hesitant to write a review. The captain was good and the boats are great and the gear is fine. I understand that some days the fishing is not fantastic and weather can play a part that is out of control. It was a windy day so they couldn’t take us out to the halibut grounds they wanted to so we fished for them in an area our captain said he hadn’t finished before. The fishing was slow so it ended up being a $1200 boat ride for a 7 lb halibut. I kinda wish they had canceled our trip if the weather is such that they can’t get you to productive water. The captain did his best but I do wish they had been more realistic about what to expect and canceled our trip.

Hi Dave We are sorry you were disappointed When groups are in port for a short amount of time, and they look forward to their fishing trip , we don't cancel due to weather Our weather drastically changes here quickly in Ketchikan and we aim to give our customers the best experience possible Weather has been poor this spring here and we hope it improves!!!

Had a great time. Guide(Josh) was patient and very informative. Josh was able to put us in just the right spot so that me and my son were able to both catch Halibut.
