Ketchikan Magical Old-Growth Creek Trek Guided Tour

Overview
Come join us on a lovely 3.6-mile roundtrip hike through an Alaska State Park into the Tongass National Forest. Enjoy a small group of up to 7 guests! First relax on the 40-minute scenic drive to the end of the road. Then hike an improved gravel trail alongside a river with glimpses of waterfalls. Walk through a magical old-growth rainforest displaying impressive specimens of Sitka spruce and western red cedar fencing in the trail.

Besides some stairs at the beginning of the hike, the trail flattens out and winds along the river valley below a ridge. 1 mile down the trail, our destination is a stone bench beside a serene bow in the river, where we can pause and enjoy one another and the peace and quiet.

This tour is led by owner and operator, Tongass Teague. Enjoy connecting with him, each other, and the wilderness of Southeast Alaska. Ask about how to practice mindfulness! Ask about our endangered old-growth forests and how to protect them!

This was an absolutely amazing and enjoyable hiking trip through the Tongass national forest. Teague is so knowledgeable and kind. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity. The hike was quite manageable, and so amazing to hike beside the river in the old growth forest. Teague also had a trekking pole; although I hadnā€™t needed one before it was perfect for this adventure. He brought snacks and the best peppermint tea. I would highly recommend this hike to anyone who visits Ketchikan! This was truly an uplifting experience, and really made my trip to Alaska wonderful. Best of the best and truly magical.

We had a wonderful time trekking through the Tongass forest with Teague. He was very informative and pleasant. We had perfect weather and even moments of sunshine on our hike. Teague told us about the fascinating rainforest and showed us where the salmon were climbing upstream to their spawning ground. Very good tour!

Thank you for your generous review! So glad that the sun made an appearance and that the salmon were running.

A wonderful and beautiful experience. One of the advantages of this tour is that it is intimate and limited to a limited number of people. In this way, you can connect and talk deeply with the guide. Teague is a smiling local guide, very knowledgeable about the area, the environment, the animals, and the flora. The guide offers pickup from the cruise docks and return. It is highly recommended.
