NOT ENOUGH STARS TO RATE THIS TOUR! SERIOUSLY!
Kevin and his team are outstanding! Easy registration. Best price for a tour. And it was private—just our family of 6!
When we talked about highlights of our trip to Alaska, our kids said emphatically, “The tour in Ketchikan!”
We are a family of 6 and we were on an Alaskan cruise. All 4 kids are older, all girls, between 15-20 yrs old. Ketchikan was our first stop on the cruise.
The tour team was great about letting us guide the tour in terms of what we wanted to do. But we honestly didn’t know enough to know what we wanted beyond, “See Alaska and see wildlife!” They helped us figure it out when we got there to make the most of our time.
Saw tons of bald eagles, saw the salmon running, but no bears.
The best part is all the guides are local! There is no one better to hear from about the local history than someone who’s not only educated, but lived it. It’s their history!
Kevin was our guide, and he made the history come alive. I can’t say we were all looking for a history lesson when we started, but we left incredibly inspired, entertained, and completely satisfied.
What I’d want to know before booking:
-Book early. Tour times are limited.
-We ported at 7a and we’re able to make a 730a tour time.
-It was easy to find the guide at the port. He was holding a big “Alaskan Native Tours” sign. There’s only one way out and you’ll literally run right into the guides.
-With a smaller private group and smaller vehicle, we could go some places the big tours couldn’t.
-We did make a bathroom break and it was no big deal.
-We got the scoop on stores and restaurants to visit and which to avoid.
-Bring rain gear. It’s Alaska!
-Bring binoculars.
-Participate and prompt your kids to participate by asking questions. Any questions. Kevin was great at carrying conversation and really included everyone. AND remembered everyone’s names!
Rained the whole time, and we still had the BEST time!
Could not recommend this tour enough!!!
