We really enjoyed our kayaking trip....and Tyler was a great guide. It's nice to get away from the crowds and be able to take in the scenery and wildlife that Southern Alaska has to offer.

I really enjoyed this activity a lot! We saw starfish, sea lions, bald eagles, and lots of harbor seals. The kayaking was good exercise and in a pretty area too! We had a very good tour guide. Unfortunately, the wind was a bit strong that day and some of the local boaters were not very considerate when we were close by, making the water more than a bit choppy as we were kayaking. I also didn't care for the paddles. They seemed too short and caused me to get very wet.

Holland America had two kayak options in Ketchikan, and as it turns out, they were both offered through the same vendor, Southeast Exposure. They are a 25 min drive north of the cruise ship terminal in downtown Ketchikan in Clover Passage. We opted for the shorter and least expensive of the two, but we still had an awesome kayak experience. Spent 1.5-2 hours in the double kayak, out and around Eagle Island in the passage, where the eagles were very active and quite close. We paddled along the forest shore viewing starfish and visiting with the seals. We had a small group and an awesome guide. We still had lots of time to explore Ketchikan afterwards. This adventure centre also has a zipline course on site as well as washrooms, and a small gift shop.
