While not big on boat trips, we decided to give this a try and it was one of the best parts of our vacation. The fact that it was perfect weather was very lucky for us, but the the boat and crew were truly outstanding. The 105 foot schooner is beautiful, and a pleasure to sail on. The crew could not have been better! The captain was obviously skilled. He also was informational, good natured, and amusing as when he described a small skiff with a very, very small engine passing by as "using a weed whacker for a outboard motor". The two woman crew deserve special mention, as they worked hard and nonstop for the duration. In addition to sailing the boat and getting interested clients involved helping, they were very pleasant and helpful, repeatedly offered to replenish drinks and snacks (nice crackers and cheese) and made sure everybody was having a good time...which they were. (Went Wednesday Feb 14 at 1:30) The tour was a nice loop up the Gulf side of Key West, then down and around to the Atlantic side, then back up to port. You're really missing something if you don't get out onto and see the fantastically beautiful water around Key West, and this cruise was, for me, the perfect way to do it.

Four of us did the Classic Day Sail and we all loved it. The schooner is beautiful. One can tell it was built for speed. We sailed using only wind power and it was exhilarating. Captain Ron even let us take turns behind the wheel. The crew was so nice and went out of their way to make sure we were having a good time. A wide variety of beverages are offered and they even had champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. The 90 minute trip went by so quickly. I would recommend the Day Sail over the Sunset Sail as the latter tends to get crowded. We had plenty of room to make ourselves comfortable and roam about the vessel. We would highly recommend this unique opportunity while in Key West.

Everyone from the Classic Harbor Line was very friendly and accommodating, from the gentleman who sold us our tickets, to the lady at the boarding pass window, to the captain and crew of the America 2.0. Captain Ron was very informative and even allowed any who wanted to to steer and drive the ship. The two crew members, Amber and Christian, worked hard at their job of hoisting and lowering the sails and they even served all of us a variety of drinks and snacks during the hour and a half trip. We had never been on a sailboat before and are looking forward already to doing it again. What a wonderful way to spend a beautiful, sunny afternoon in the Keys!
