Trolley is expensive, and a good bit of route wasn't very interesting. Biggest objection is that it doesn't always work very well (efficiently) for getting from place to place because full loop takes 1 1/2 hours, and you may have to ride a long time to get where you want to go. For example, we started at butterfly exhibit area and could have efficiently gotten to Mallory Square area, but then would have had a l-o-n-g ride from there to get back to our car at butterfly center. And if you take their advice to do full loop first, you may have a long ride seeing stuff you've already seen. If you use trolley, you really need to think through your time and itinerary, and perhaps disregard their suggestion of doing full loop first. You also need to expect waits, and seeing trolleys come that have no seats. This can eat into your time and is something else that can make it a less efficient way of getting around than you may be envisioning. We had this situation in early March, and that isn't even a peak time.

The drivers were very entertaining and informative. It was a great way to familiarize yourself to area . I recommend taking this tour right when you get to Key West and then see where you want to go to spend more time.

Loved hearing about the history of Key West. It was a great way to get around especially with being able to get on and off at the different places. Definitely beats trying to find parking. We rode it twice in 1 day with 2 different drivers and they were both very knowledgeable and we learned different things from both of them and they were entertaining also.
