Our food tour with John was fun delicious and informative. Love walking around the city in search of great local food while learning about Key West history and folklore. We ate roasted spiced corn on the cob, Sicilian pizza, shrimp rolls at DJs(a DDD place liked by Guy Fieri) great mahi mahi tacos and Key lime pie to finish. You will walk about 2 miles total at a leisurely pace over 2.5 hours from Old Town to Duval and near the Bahama Market. We did not choose the drink option but the choices were fun and our group had people who imbibed. Bathrooms are available at most every food stop and water was available at each place as well. In all a very enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. We highly recommend the Secret Food Tour with John.

Good food at local spots! Fish tacos were delicious! Shrimps rolls were also very good. Would have enjoyed some alcohol along the way.

This was my first food tour and probably my last. Our tour guide, Anna, was very good and knowledgeable but our first restaurant stop, Bien, was unexpectedly closed. For $170/couple, I expected the five stops we paid for. I could have gone to a very nice restaurant and had an amazing dinner with drinks and dessert for this price. What we got was a sliver (1" or so) of cuban sub sandwich from the Cuban Coffee Queen with no beverage; a small fritter, a fried calamari/conch slice, and some fries from DJ's Crab Shack with no beverage; a fish taco with no beverage; and a slice of key lime pie from Kermits with no beverage. I doubt we ate $40 worth of food between me and my husband. Further, it was a very hot, long, dry walk. No bottled water was provided at any point. I truly believe as a courtesy a $1 bottled water should have been provided at the start of our tour.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, BLHoten. At Secret Food Tours, we always want to provide unique and authentic culinary experiences for our guests. We consistently look to offer diverse and delightful culinary experiences in Key West. We'd like to mention that we occasionally accommodate adjustments to cater to the availability and seasonality of certain ingredients and our food partners. In such instances, we make it a point to seek adequate replacements that are of equal or greater standing locally to the original selections. We want to assure you that we are actively on top of this to make sure that there would be minimal impact on the tasting aspect. We also acknowledge that perceptions of value can vary, but it's important to consider that when you pay for a private food tour, you're not only paying for the food itself. You're also paying for the expertise of your guide, the convenience of a crafted experience, and the opportunity to explore the hidden gems in the city. We firmly believe these aspects contribute significantly to the overall value of our tour. We regret if this fell short of your expectations. We’re equally disappointed in the oversight regarding bottled water. Providing water at the beginning of the tour is indeed a part of the journey. Our guide should have handed water bottles and we’ll further address this internally to ensure that this is not missed in our future tours in Key West. We would like to highlight that since receiving feedback like yours, we have made significant improvements to our food tour. We are now consistently receiving excellent feedback from our guests as a result. We would love for you to give us another chance to showcase these improvements and provide you with a much more satisfying experience. If you’d like to discuss this further, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected]. Thank you again for your feedback and we look forward to welcoming you on another Secret Food Tour.
