My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our food tour with Lauren. She was amazing! Very personable, knowledgeable in Key West history, and brought us to some local restaurants with the best food I’ve tasted in awhile. I didn’t realize we would also get such a detailed history lesson from Lauren which was an added bonus. The walk is about 2 1/2 - 3 hours long and although it was hot and humid in July, it was tolerable as most restaurants had A/C. The spiced corn on the cob was my favorite! Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who wants to do something different then just walk up and down Duval street looking to eat at the touristy places. Try to book it during the beginning of your stay so you will have a chance to go back to these restaurants later. Looking forward to going back one day (maybe in March this time though).

My only regret about this wonderful food and history tour is that we took it our last night, not our first! Led by wonderful historian and local expert Lauren- we learned so much fascinating and hilarious history, architecture, plant identification and of course amazing food and drink tastings. My favorite was the plantain duo at Frita’s Cuban. We were so stuffed by the end of the tour I couldn’t finish my key lime pie! I wanted to stay an extra day to revisit the spots Lauren took us. We also enjoyed getting to know the other couple on our tour during this relaxed friendly walk. I have done food tours in other cities and find it’s the best way to have a sampler platter of tastes and experiences- Key West did not disappoint!
