The tour wasn’t really much, but our host was pleasant and accommodating. We learned about the distillery, some of its folklore regarding the varieties of Kō they use to make their rum. I really appreciate that no two years are the same and that batches of the same type of rum can differ dramatically from each other based on the type of kō used. Using what is given and making something uniques and interesting is pretty novel. The tour is only about three years old, so there are some kinks. I’d like to see more can juices or two types of gelato for the non-drinkers maybe, so they’d still feel included. It was really nice though!

Since I live in Kunia, I came with guest from the mainland. I do recommend this place to understand the Ko (sugercane) and the different types. Then they have an aquaponics and a great view. The history there is priceless. Our tour guide was Tiffany. She was well versed in the culture, sugarcane and the process. I enjoy listening to the tour guide. They all say similar things. The tasting was a blast and of course I bought a bottle. I highly recommend this place. It was a week day and it was better than a weakend. Come on the weekday, not as busy. We took our time there and just bask in the ambiance. We met Zack also.

What an interesting and fun tour! Kunia is a gorgeous area and quite off the beaten path, which makes this somewhat hidden gem even more attractive. Today my husband and I took a tour with Asia and Tiffany, and they were fantastic! Super knowledgeable, sweet and clearly passionate about what they do. The rums are high-quality and the tasting includes sugar cane juice (cold pressed straight from the stalk) and a sample of their home made rum cake.
