Whales! We specialize in finding and viewing the our majestic summer guests; Humpback, Fin, and Gray Whales. The boat tour is designed around the whale watching focus. You can expect your tour to include comfortable travel within the busy Kodiak Harbor/Channel, Buskin River watershed, nearby Woody, Long, and Spruce Island, and Miller Point looking back towards Fort Abercombrie State Park. The tour may also include brief tutorials regarding Kodiak's dynamic fishing industry, WWII history, and of course, opportunities to observe a diverse range of sea life including Stellar Sea Lions, Puffin, Otter, etc...

What To Expect

Kodiak Island

The excursion will take you up and down Kodiak's historic ocean channel and 2 miles out to sea toward Woody and Long Island in Chiniak Bay.

We had perfect weather and saw some whales and other wildlife, it was great! Our guide was very friendly and made us all feel welcomed. Would highly recommend!

I had an amazing time on this trip. We saw puffins, sea lions, otters, whales—you name it! The ride was great; Stephen’s knowledge of Kodiak and it’s history make this whale viewing tour one of the coolest ways to learn about Kodiak. I would recommend this tour to everyone—visitors and locals alike!

What a great morning we had! Started out seeing cute little otters and puffins and then finally came across a group of Finn Whales near Abercrombie. Stephen knew exactly where to go and we’ll definitely be bringing more family back out with him as they come to visit Kodiak.
