We did not catch any fish and we went into it not expecting to which was fine with us. However, our time on the boat was pointless and a waste of time. From the get go, our group knew we had made a mistake. The captain was virtually non existent as he hardly said a word to our group. He drove us straight out and straight back (from reading other reviews, Iā€™m guessing we never made it to the right spot to catch anything). Our deck hand was even worse. He put all the lines in as we watched what he was doing in silence and he retreated to be on his phone. Yes, he initially explained safety things and what to do if we catch something, but that was it. It really felt like he didnā€™t want to be there and either knew we wouldnā€™t catch anything or didnā€™t want to. If youā€™re looking for something thatā€™s informative and interactive where you learn about fishing in Hawaii whether you catch something or not, do something else.

Capt Curtis was really friendly and pleasant, as was his deckhand, so sorry I canā€™t remember his name. They got stuck with a girl group, whoā€™ve never caught more then small river/lake fish. My 15 year old daughter begged to go fishing so she got the chair. Within the first hour she hooked a marlin! It did get away but it was really exciting to see that sucker fighting and flying out of the water! She hooked another blue marlin that was estimated to be about 200 pounds! After fighting it for almost 30 min and reeling it in herself the sucker got under the boat and the line snapped. So sad and disappointing but we understand these things happen. She was just so thrilled to have the experience and seeing those huge marlins fighting and flying out of the water was awesome!

An amazing adventure! Captain Curtis, Judah & Victor each played a key role in one of the best days on the water. Captain Curtis was pro at everything from the command of his boat and crew to putting us in just the right spot to catch more than our share of fish. If that wasn't enough he spotter a whale shark as we were about to go back into the harbor. He made sure the Shark was safe by ordering all lines in fast and put us in an amazing position to get a close up look at this wonderful species. When all is said and done we caught a marlin, a yellow tail, two ono and a sail fish. I would recommend this boat again with out regret. Just don't expect to get as many fish ;)
