Lahaina Kayak and Snorkel Excursion

Overview

This west Maui eco adventure starts in the calm waters just south of Lahaina Town. Paddle along calm and shallow waters beneath the towering West Maui Mountains. Snorkel beautiful coral reefs and view tropical reef fish. Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles are regular sightings. Occasionally encounter the elusive Monk Seal, Spinner Dolphins, and Eagle Rays. This is an excellent spot for whale watching when in season (Jan-Mar). Tour is located conveniently at our store at 505 Front Street in downtown Lahaina.

We were shut out of our first date due to weather conditions. Rebooked for 2 days later. No problem. Used the underground parking lot (yeah, I know, an underground lot in Lahaina? Yep) and made our way to the counter and grabbed our snorkling gear and life vest. Ryan gave a few instructions and then we made our way to the beach launching point where he provided some in depth instructions and demonstrations. After a beach launch of the kayaks we made our way to the channel and began snorkling and relaxing in the warm water. After that we paddled about and then headed in towards the beach to drop off the kayaks and the gear and to wash things down. Ryan was a top notch guide and would be my #1 choice the next time we return.

Guide was very friendly and there is all you can drink water and snacks. All equipment is provided and is in relatively good condition. There is a short tutorial how to kayak and some do’s and dont’s. Your trip travels through a lagoon where small sharks, turtles, and an animal similar to a sea lion and then out into the bay for snorkeling. It was a fun experience!
