Lahaina Kayak and Snorkel Excursion

Overview

This west Maui eco adventure starts in the calm waters just south of Lahaina Town. Paddle along calm and shallow waters beneath the towering West Maui Mountains. Snorkel beautiful coral reefs and view tropical reef fish. Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles are regular sightings. Occasionally encounter the elusive Monk Seal, Spinner Dolphins, and Eagle Rays. This is an excellent spot for whale watching when in season (Jan-Mar). Tour is located conveniently at our store at 505 Front Street in downtown Lahaina.

Thoroughly enjoyed our guided experience kayaking over hidden reefs off Lahaina & experiencing plenty of sea turtles! It’s was fun, interactive and all in all a superb way to spend a morning on the way up close and personal with some beautiful sea life. Great value all round !

My wife and I are novice kayakers as was everyone else in our group. The paddle out to the snorkeling stop was very cool. As we were heading out from shore we took a channel between two breaks with surfers. The waves were about five feet high and we got a great view of surfers riding the waves on both sides of us. That was a unique experience. The tour goes out quite a ways from shore and you get a good view of the Maui Mountains. We were also out past where the waves were breaking so it was again a unique close up view of the back side of the waves as they curled over. The views of the waves were the highlight of the trip for me. The snorkeling was ok but I have seen a lot more fish snorkeling from shore in various places. The coral formations were quite impressive however, some of the best I've seen in Hawaii. Our guide was Brandon who set a comfortable pace for all us amatuers. While we were snorkeling my wife and I talked with him about different places to snorkel on Maui and other interesting things to see or do. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. I think he did a good job of keeping everone comfortable and explaining how to get on and off the kayak when in the water.

Branden was an excellent guide; he's knowledgeable and he was very chill. He took us to two spots to snorkel and we saw a ton of interesting creatures and seascapes. He also told us about the plant that defogged our masks (worked really well!) so we could see everything very clearly. We had originally scheduled the trip on Sunday, but because of the weather concern, we were rescheduled to Saturday; fortunately, it worked out.
