This was amazing, so worth the price! Saw unique geothermal features you can't see from land. Also saw a bald eagle and had a close up view of a mama elk and her calf. Guide was an interesting person,, friendly and very knowledgeable. A perfect day, high point of our trip.

Our family was looking for a unique activity to fill our last day at Yellowstone, so we decided to try a kayaking tour. There are several guide companies that operate on the lake, all with good reviews, but we were persuaded by Shurr's commitment to small group sizes. None of us had ever been in a kayak before, and we were leery of ending up in a large group. Although it was short notice, we called right away that morning to see if they had availability for the sunset tour later in the day. Alli was actually out on a guided hike when we called, but gave a number to text. We texted and she got right back to us. She shared that the guides had the day off, but she offered to check with one of them to see if he would be able to take us out that evening. A few texts back and forth and it worked out that they were able to take us. Since we were the only reservations, we ended up with a private tour, which was perfect. Our guide, Trey, was excellent. He was very patient with us newbies and got us out on the water quickly. The kids were pretty nervous going in, but within a few minutes they were totally comfortable with Trey and with the kayaks. Due to our "navigational difficulties", we were pretty much all over the water, but Trey was totally patient with us and somehow managed to keep us moving in the right direction. The trip itself was very relaxing. We saw elk wading near the shore and some interesting thermal features, but for us the best part was just spending family time on the water and trying something new. Our trip was cut a little bit short by some incoming weather, but I appreciated the fact that they were putting safety first, especially since we had children along and limited experience. The last thing we would want is to be caught on the water in bad weather. Even so, we were still on the water for just under 3 hours. All in all a great experience. We really appreciated that Alli and Trey went out of their way to accommodate our group on short notice. Thanks for helping to make a great memory for our family. Highly recommend Shurr Adventures!

We had a wonderful time on our kayak tour. Chris was our guide and he was very knowledgeable of the area, the lake and thermal features we passed. It was a very relaxing paddle enabling us to view the beauty of Yellowstone from a different perspective and get off the beaten path. Highly recommend!
