My wife and I did the evening kayak on Yellowstone Lake. One reason we picked Shurr was previous reviews mentioning smaller groups per guide. This proved to be true as it was only the two of us with our guide which made the experience feel that much more personalized. I can't emphasize how this really makes a difference. We saw another group out on the lake with probably 6-8 kayaks spread out and I wondered how difficult it must be for for a guide to connect with every one in the group. Our guide, Joe, was great. My wife and I, while both physicaly fit and active, had never kayaked. Joe had us up running smooth in a tandem kayak after a short instruction. Joe was fun to talk to and very informed on the history and surrounding areas of Yellowstone. I recommend the evening kayak as winds on the lake tend to subside as the day gets later. The lake was like glass at times and the surrounding mountains of the late day skies were beautiful. All in all, it was everything we had hoped for.

My family of four had a wonderful experience on this tour. Aiden was our guide. He provided great information about the geothermal features we saw from our kayaks. He was also very informative about other trails and hikes to do within Yellowstone. Midway we stopped for some snacks and water which were much needed and greatly appreciated. The 3.5 hours was a bit long for me, as I am not really into kayaking, but my family enjoyed it as did the other people who were in our group. I would highly suggest this tour to any visitor to the park.
