Overview

Our meeting time of 8:30 is the optimal time as we are one of the first to get on and usually get back before the strong afternoon winds pick up. Kayaking on lake Yellowstone on a old volcano is truly one of the top five things to do while in the park. With our small group tours we are able to personalize the tour and really show our guests this place in a unique way. All of our kayaks have a rudders which is very important on windy days and is a great way to steer with ease. Our naturalist guides/level 3 ACA certified trip leaders are in the top of their field and have years of experience, this helps when talking about Yellowstone as a naturalist and safety as a seasoned guide. Kayaking past the west thumb geyser and Potts geyser basin is a truly special way see this area of Yellowstone lakes thermal features, With our fast and stable kayaks we are able to cover more ground safety to optimize guests overall experience

We have water bottles in each boat, but if our guest are able to bring their own water please bring

Additional Info

Infants are required to sit on an adult’s lap

Highly recommend kayaking with Shurr Adventures! What a great way to see Yellowstone from a different perspective. My husband and I kayaked with our two boys (7 and 9) and they can't stop talking about all the birds and cool geysers that we saw! Our guide, Ted, was so patient with all the questions my boys had and explained everything in an accessible way for them. He added in all sorts of information about the geysers we saw, the birds on the lake and general information about the park and the area. We learned so much! My boys enjoyed it so much they are already asking when we can kayak again!

SO fun - loved feeling how hot the water was near the thermal features! Very unique way to experience the park. Our guide Ted was amazing - so many fun facts about the park, kayaking and various adventures! I felt safe and entertained the whole time!

We had a group of 8, including 4 teenagers who were not happy with a 6AM departure from Big Sky to Yellowstone. But, after kayaking, they told me they LOVED IT and were glad they came! The guides were great! For Shurr would go on other tours by this outfit.
