Located at Assembly Row in Somerville, less than 3 miles (5 km) from Boston, LEGOLAND Discovery Center offers free parking and is accessible by the orange line on the MBTA at Assembly Station.
2
Legoland Discovery Center
Once inside, venture through the Minifigure entrance, and strike a pose for a photo shoot with a custom LEGO background. Then take an elevator to the LEGO Factory for a virtual tour of the actual factory in Denmark. After learning how LEGO bricks are made and playing a game, hop on a chariot at the Kingdom Quest Laser Rider. Use your laser to zap skeletons and ogres so you can rescue a princess. Make you way to Miniland, where you’ll find iconic Boston landmarks made out of LEGO. Can you find the Prudential Tower, Logan Airport, the State House, Quincy Market and Fenway Park? Next, check out the DUPLO Farm, where little tikes can go to work, or enjoy the play kitchen and living room karaoke at Olivia’s house, based on LEGO Friends. In the LEGO Fire Academy and LEGO Construction Site play zones, young ones can climb to the top of walls and go down the slide, or build with giant soft LEGO bricks. Don’t miss pedaling magic bikes at Merlin’s Apprentice! Get in the fast lane to construct and test race cars at LEGO Racers, where you can go head-to-head against the clock, or try your hand at building the tallest tower to withstand an earthquake at the Earthquake Tables. Kids can also learn more building tips and tricks by attending a class in the Master Builder Academy, where expert instructors take them through a Minibuild. You can take home your creations for an additional fee. When the family is ready for a break, see special effects at the 4D cinema where 15-minute movies play throughout the day. Or head to the cafe for sandwiches and snacks (own expense), and stop by the gift shop on your way out for that perfect LEGO set. Please note: This is a children's attraction. To promote a safe and family-friendly environment, adults cannot enter without being accompanied by a child.

Very disappointing and underwhelming. Overpriced. Not much to do. 5 yr old was bored after an hour. Asked for a refund and got it.

This trip was for my son, he had a blast, enjoyed the silly rides and he did the VR with my husband they loved it. Not enough to warrant going all the time but once was worth it through his eyes. We got him the activity pack but you cannot even find half the Lego’s to create the fun stuff on them. He will use them at home maybe. Prices for Lego kits in the store there are a LOT less expensive than toy stores so enjoyed a purchase he wanted for a long time. Worth it for smaller kids up to age 12 is spot on.

I had heard a lot about this place so I decided to finally check it out with my 7 and 5 year old. First off, a note to parents: DO NOT buy the $35 ticket. It’s just not worth it. You get a cheap Lego toy and a giant activity badge that you’re supposed to wear around your neck (super uncomfortable by the way) and check off different activities as you go. Stick with the $24 ticket! The place itself is not that big. When you first walk in, the kingdom quest ride is the first thing. It was a fun but short little ride. The Merlin ride was ok but they need to have another staff member helping out. The line was long and there was only 1 girl working it and she not only runs the ride but has to unlock everyone’s seatbelts when the ride is over causing long lines. The cafe is good for snacks if the kids are hungry and they have Starbucks coffee!l for us parents! The best part of the whole place is the 4D movies. Overall, plan for 2 hours. You really can’t spend more time than that here as there’s only so many things to do.
