The sunset cruise that we scheduled was cancelled twenty minutes after we were set to sail. At 8pm the night before the cruise we received an email stating that the boat would not sail but it would motor. We decided to go forward with the 1:30PM cruise and arrived well ahead of our schedule departure time. Without any warning and well after our scheduled cruise time the boat captain informed us that the cruise was cancelled because of mechanical issues. At 2:20PM, almost an hour after the schedule cruise start time we received an email stating that the cruise was cancelled. The communication and overall customer experience was unacceptable. We traveled over an hour by car from the north shore to join this cruise. Very disappointing!!

I highly recommend this Holo Holo cruise. The tour was well organized, the boat comfortable and the crew top notch. And of course nothing like seeing the Napali Coast from the ocean. The day we went seas were high even for March, so our trip was not a standard one. We were offered the opportunity to reschedule with several took advantage of. Captain Mike, Kevin and Leila kept the beverages flowing, shared the history of this beautiful spot and managed our safety. It was a rough but exhilarating ride. We loved it, but it was hard for some. ( take Dramamine!) Kudos to the captain for his skill in maneuvering through the chop and giving us the full tour. Pros - comfortable clean boat - emphasis on safety - attentive skilled crew - Whales and dolphins - Dramatic coastline - beverages and food was good Cons -If the tour had full comfortable seating might have been scarce -hard to hear staff commentary

When you hear the captain of the catamaran offer a refund or rebooking due to strong winds and rough water, believe him and cancel. We didn’t and had a very rough 5 hours. People throwing up, me hanging on with a death grip from time to time and there was no chance of my eating dinner. I will say the crew was great, but I had no business being on that trip. I can understand though what a beautiful trip it would be on a calm day. So sorry I didn’t get to experience that.

Thank you for sharing your experience and for recognizing the efforts of our crew—we truly appreciate your kind words about them. We understand that ocean conditions can greatly impact a guest's experience, which is why, on days when conditions may alter our advertised route or be rougher than usual, our Captain provides a Weather Briefing before departure. This is not something we do every day, but rather a proactive step we take to ensure full transparency. The goal is to give every guest the opportunity to make an informed decision—whether to proceed as disclosed, reschedule for another day at no cost, or cancel for a full refund. We’re truly sorry to hear that the conditions made your tour uncomfortable, and we appreciate your understanding of how incredible this experience can be on a calmer day. If your travels bring you back to Kauai, we’d love the opportunity to welcome you aboard again under smoother conditions. Mahalo and Aloha
