This tour sounded like a cool idea but this company clearly is not client centered, and I would absolutely not use them again. I have messaged them hoping for a refund and will update this review if that refund comes through I booked this tour for Labor Day 2022 and showed up ten minutes before my tour start time. Upon arriving, my tour guide informed me that 5 out of the 7 spots we were supposed to visit were closed due to the holiday, but we would still be able to attend two places. When asked if we could simply reschedule for the following weekend, he said he had to reach out to his manager for approval first. But by the time the manager responded, the official tour time had started, and the manager said we were out of the cancellation window. Here’s the kicker—the tour guide told us (while we waited for the manager’s response) that he had told his manager earlier that this tour doesn’t make sense today because of the holiday, and the manager told him not to say anything to the clients until AFTER WE ARRIVED. Considering it was 100+ degrees in Downtown LA, we (the tour guide, myself, and my friend collectively) to just eat the money and go home, rather than traipse around Downtown in the blistering heat to do 28% of the tour we paid $75 EACH for. This tour sounded like a cool idea but this company clearly is not client centered, and I would absolutely not use them again. I have messaged them hoping for a refund and will update this review if that refund comes through

Hi Ruby, I want to apologize for the confusion that was created from our end. We misunderstood the different lines of communication. It was the guide who realized that upon arriving to Little Tokyo before the tour start that most of the tour stops weren't available for us and called me to discuss what to do. As you mentioned in your comment, it was also a very hot and perhaps unsafe day in downtown LA. I, as the guides manager, advised to ask if you would be available for a different date to receive the tour as intended. GetyourGuide is the partner who sells the tickets and has a cancellation policy in place. If we as the operator agree to exempt this policy, we can refund the guests. You are absolutely right in describing the challenges that you mention in your comments and that it would have been better to discuss the tour challenges before you would have arrived. This has not happened, I followed the observation of the guide on the ground and at that point handled. I did not made any comments or decisions about this tour beforehand, I should have known that on a holiday vendors would be limited available. Again, my apologies for not signaling this. I do hope you indeed received a refund and are willing to reconsider your review as mentioned. Please feel free to reach out to WeVenture, I really hope we can present ourselves better and still invite you on a great LA tour.

Our guide was a great guy. But this tour was very simple for the cost, with nothing really “exclusive” to the tour company. Walked around little Tokyo trying places we would have likely tried on our own. Very limited historical or cultural information. Simple treats (not meal equivalent) that could be purchased less than $20 per person. Rather disappointed with this company.

Without a doubt, when of the best things that both I and a group of friends did when staying in LA for a few days. I would even go as far to say that one of the best food tours I personally have done, which includes food tours in Paris and Budapest. The selection and variety of foods chosen by our brilliant and informative host, Tom, was fantastic. If ever you do decide to do this food tour, and have the pleasure of Tom to be your tour guide, you will not regret it. Tom was incredibly knowledgeable on the Japanese history and heritage of the Little Tokyo area of LA, along with the art district, which added greatly to our overall experience and enjoyment for the day that was in it. When considering any food tour of LA, this food tour must be the top of your list.
