What To Expect

Santa Monica Pier

Depart Las Vegas and head west to the City of Angels. Once there, dip your feet in the Pacific Ocean and / or stroll leisurely on Santa Monica Pier. Enjoy the rides, go shopping, watch the people on the beach, all while breathing in the fresh ocean air. Take a souvenir picture at the end of Route 66 sign while on the pier.

Beverly Hills

Drive thru the most popular zip code in the United States and see luxury at its finest. Stop off and get a selfie of yourself at the Beverly Hills Sign.

Rodeo Drive

Walk on Rodeo Drive and see up close and personal luxurious high-end shopping. Drive through Beverly Hills and you can stop and get out for a picture at the Beverly Hills Sign.

Hollywood Walk of Fame

Enjoy an hour of your own time on Hollywood Blvd where you can scan the sidewalk for your favorite stars, along with views of the ICONIC HOLLYWOOD Sign!

Underwhelmed by our welcome at the meeting point. I was expecting a much more professional approach and a smaller, more comfortable vehicle. Two of our party were unable to sit beside each other and some had uncomfortable seating due to the raised flooring at the wheel arches. Not ideal for an all day coach tour. Our first two hours on the bus were so uncomfortable as the bus was freezing. We brought this to the driver’s attention at the first stop and this did improve as the heat was then turned on. We were told by Ward that the speed limit was 70 mph but that he set his cruise control at 80 mph as the police don’t bother unless you do over 85 mph. As if that wasn’t disturbing enough he then proceeded to use his phone while exceeding the speed limits. Some of his comments were totally out of order when he referred to the local prostitutes and the number of rooms available or when he talked about his girlfriend asking for money to go shopping. Snacks consisted of water and crisps. We also felt as if we were being treated like children when given a menu but told that we could not exceed 15$ and that we were not allowed to order alcoholic drinks as they did not want to increase the number of comfort stops. Surely it would be more appropriate to show us a menu of what we could have rather than the full menu. Lunch was lovely but we were not given a choice of what we wanted to drink, with water served up front as we sat down at our tables. Santa Monica was lovely and we had a very pleasant stop there. We also enjoyed Rodeo Drive but were concerned about where we were going as we did not get clear instructions or a set time to meet back at the the coach. The view of the Hollywood sign from the Chinese Theatre District was disappointing and too much time was spent here. We couldn’t visit certain areas as the vehicle exceeded weight restrictions so why use a 15 seater?. Our journey home was very disappointing as the driver was showing no interest in whether we were comfortable. Again we were freezing cold and the driver rather than maintaining a regular temperature continually turned on and off the AC letting the vehicle drop to uncomfortable levels where we were freezing cold. It was only when one of the other guests challenged him on the lack of heat he finally kept the heat on. The overall impression of the day was that the company was cutting costs at the expense of their guests’ comfort and this greatly detracted from what should have been an idyllic day trip. This is not what I expect from Viator and has resulted in me not booking further attractions through them while visiting in the US. I do not feel we got value for money, far from it!!

Colin, I am so sorry for your experience, I will talk have a talk with Ward about his actions and what was said during the tour along with looking into other situations you brought to my attention. I promise you we are not attempting to cut costs for we would have not gone to eat lunch at that restaurant whereas other tour companies would serve a cold sandwich that was prepared hours before you left in the morning. The seating situation is a luck of the draw according to your hotel location. I will definitely look into other things that you brought up. Thank you.
