Overview

Nowhere else can you work with a local artist to examine the Los Angeles graffiti style. Learn the techniques of Aerosol Art from line work to outlines as you have a chance to develop your skills with the spray cans. Meet your local artist at our state of the art studio before diving into the culture of graffiti. Receive a demonstration on how to work with the cans, before having time to practice, and finally creating your masterpiece. By the end of the session you will have a greater appreciation for this underground artform. Paint like an Angelino in this local graffiti lesson.

The walking tour in downtown L.A with Gabe was fabulous! He was able to put the tags/pieces/murals in an historical context, showing their significance deeply rooted in the cultural tangle that is Los Angeles. It was almost like walking with an art historian. We found him to be respectful of the artists, enough so, that he went as far as receiving permission to tour there, in contrast to the common attitude of ownership and disregard.

This was a great experience for our 12 year old son. The graffiti artist who worked with him during the workshop was excellent -- super interesting and patient. My son made a great piece on canvas and is super excited to go again. Definitely worth doing!

Dirt is a fantastic teacher and a font of knowledge on graffiti history and so much fun. His enthusiasm and infectious personality are irresistible. And he's a great artist. Could not be happier!
