Lovers Key Guided Eco Tour-Mangrove Estuary

Overview

This is a 2 hour and 15 minute tour with Lovers Key Adventures master naturalist guide, Stephen, who expertly guides our guests through the mangrove canopied estuary explaining the importance of the southwest Florida eco-system -the history of the area- from the Calusa Indians, Conquistadors, and Ponce De Leon..on. He finds wildlife and introduces our guests to the various birds, vegetation, dolphins, and manatee (if they’re around that day;) This is one of the unique experiences available in southwest Florida. No tour is ever the same there is no script and many guests return year after year to enjoy Stephen's expertise and the beauty of Lovers Key
Our guests also often take advantage of the beaches and hiking trails offered inside the state park. There are many photo opportunities available to capture the memories of this incredible experience within the natural surroundings of the untouched Florida landscape.

What To Expect

Lovers Key State Park

Lovers Key State Park offers 2 1/2 miles of beach coastline with incredible shelling. There are 5 miles of hiking and biking trails with wildlife sightings daily. The tours take place in the estuary with manatee and dolphin sightings (if they choose to show up) many or most days. 4 hour Kayak rentals are also available at your leisure-unguided with single and tandem kayaks and canoes as well as stand up paddle boards rented by the hour.

My wife, four kids and I went on a guide tour with Stephen. Stephen was very knowledgeable about the ecosystem and animals. He was also great with the kids. Everyone had a wonderful time. Definitely recommend to take the tour.

We recently decided we wanted to see and learn more about the magnificent mangroves in Naples Florida. We booked a tour with Stephen through the lovers key adventures. We took a kayak tour for 3 hours through the mangroves. During this time we saw manatees up close and several other sea life creatures. Stephen is extremely Knowledgable and makes you feel at home in the water. He is open to questions and even walks through the water to find various little creatures. It was very enjoyable to have a tour guide to navigate the mangroves while providing us with a plethora of information. We would recommend this tour over and over again it's great for the whole family to explore and bond with nature!

I took my 13 yr old granddaughter on the guided tour with Stephen Denmark. Stephen is an awesome guide, finding all sorts of creatures with his feet on the bottom of the bay to add to our knowledge. We got to touch, hold and photograph everything he found. Although most of the alligators had gone to cooler waters at this time of year, we still got to see one right near our boat. I am looking forward to doing this again and will be requesting Stephen Denmark. Thanks Stephen!
