Lovers Key Guided Eco Tour-Mangrove Estuary

Overview

This is a 2 hour and 15 minute tour with Lovers Key Adventures master naturalist guide, Stephen, who expertly guides our guests through the mangrove canopied estuary explaining the importance of the southwest Florida eco-system -the history of the area- from the Calusa Indians, Conquistadors, and Ponce De Leon..on. He finds wildlife and introduces our guests to the various birds, vegetation, dolphins, and manatee (if they’re around that day;) This is one of the unique experiences available in southwest Florida. No tour is ever the same there is no script and many guests return year after year to enjoy Stephen's expertise and the beauty of Lovers Key
Our guests also often take advantage of the beaches and hiking trails offered inside the state park. There are many photo opportunities available to capture the memories of this incredible experience within the natural surroundings of the untouched Florida landscape.

What To Expect

Lovers Key State Park

Lovers Key State Park offers 2 1/2 miles of beach coastline with incredible shelling. There are 5 miles of hiking and biking trails with wildlife sightings daily. The tours take place in the estuary with manatee and dolphin sightings (if they choose to show up) many or most days. 4 hour Kayak rentals are also available at your leisure-unguided with single and tandem kayaks and canoes as well as stand up paddle boards rented by the hour.

Karen, my tour guide and kayak instructor, was AMAZING. My experience was educational, uplifting, relaxing, and therapeutic. Karen did a great job gauging my level of comfort and provided appropriate guidance and encouragement. She was such a joy to be with. I am so glad that I was the only one. She made me feel safe and cared for. My arms were tired but my heart was full when I left. I loved that I could get pictures of my experience as well. Thanks Karen. 🙂

What a great experience! We couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Karen, she remembered all of our names and you felt like you were hanging out with a friend. Karen’s knowledge of the wildlife was fantastic and she took loads of photos which she then sent to us. It was the highlight of our vacation to Naples. Can’t recommend enough!

We had a fantastic time! I went with my 14 yo daughter and she was engaged the entire tour. Our guide, Karen learned everybody's name at the get go and used our names when speaking to us individually. My daughter felt seen and we both felt important. Karen really enjoys what she does and it shows in her excitement about the conservation of the area. We learned so much about the mangrove preserve, including little tidbits about the history and urban legends about the place. The highlight of the tour was when we saw some manatees, but especially when my daughter got to hold a live starfish and urchin. She was beaming from ear to ear. 11/10 recommend Karen as a tour guide!
