Lower Antelope Canyon General Guided Tour

Overview
The Navajo name for Lower Antelope Canyon is Hasdeztwazi or “Spiral Rock Arches.” This incredible canyon has been created over many thousands of years by the relentless forces of water and wind, slowly carving and sculpting the sandstone into forms, textures, and shapes which we observe today.

The views in Lower Antelope Canyon change constantly as the sun moves across the sky, filtering lights softly across the stone walls. These ever-moving sun angles bounce light back and forth across the narrow canyon’s walls, creating a dazzling display of color, light, and shadow.

Antelope Canyon is beautiful and we would have enjoyed our time if our tour group was much smaller. We were packed in the canyon - so many people taking family photos causing you to stop and wait in a very crowded space on numerous occasions. They take a lot of people down into the canyon at the same time which detracts from a peaceful canyon experience.

Dear Rachael, Thanks for your feedback. Sorry about your experience. Here as per our records you visited the canyon on July 3rd which is during the holiday peak season. That is why there are so many guests that entered the canyon on that day. Usually during peak season, it might be a little bit crowded. Typically during non-holidays it would be much better. Hope for your understanding.

Our tour guide Dillon was great! Very informative and helped us get the best pictures. Tours were going out in 5 groups of 15, but it never felt overcrowded or rushed. There are some ladders that need to be climbed and a few tight spots that require some bending and ducking. And it’s pretty hot in July, bring water!
