The Navajo name for Lower Antelope Canyon is Hasdeztwazi or “Spiral Rock Arches.” This incredible canyon has been created over many thousands of years by the relentless forces of water and wind, slowly carving and sculpting the sandstone into forms, textures, and shapes which we observe today.

The views in Lower Antelope Canyon change constantly as the sun moves across the sky, filtering lights softly across the stone walls. These ever-moving sun angles bounce light back and forth across the narrow canyon’s walls, creating a dazzling display of color, light, and shadow.

What To Expect

Lower Antelope Canyon

A 1 hour guided tour through Lower Antelope Canyon. Learn about the geology, history and the culture of the Navajo people that live around the canyon. Don't forget to bring a camera you will be taking a lot of photos! Antelope canyon is famous for its wave-like structure and the light beams that shine directly down into the openings of the canyon, creating a super natural appearance. Many travellers and photographers have been attracted here, regard it as a place where dreams come true. Different from the flat ground of Upper Antelope Canyon, Lower Antelope Canyon requires visitors to climb upside and down through staircases and ladders. It feels like you are entering a new planet, starting a magical adventure.

Of course it's a little expensive for an hour for a European budget but it's really magnificent. In small groups of a dozen we descend into the canyon with a guide. Ours was very nice. We're not rushed, we can take photos etc... It's very good

The views in the canyon are breathtaking, just like in the pictures. The only thing is that the distance between the guided groups should be increased a little, otherwise they will collide.

A very impressive tour. The Lower Antelope Canyon is not to be missed. Friendly and competent guide. Considering the length of the tour and the number of visitors who are guided daily, the price is a bit high. But it is an experience!
