What To Expect

Lower Antelope Canyon

Tour Departure Point: Lower Antelope Canyon Indn Route 222 Page, AZ, 86040 Antelope Canyon Tours departs every 1/2 hour a quarter after and a quarter till the hour, the tour is a 1.5 hours waling tour and climbing down some ladders is involved. Please wear comfortable shoes for this 600 meter trip. Lower Antelope Canyon Tours has smaller group sizes and the guide stays with you during the entire tour, sharing information about the geology, history, and Navajo Traditional ways. The Lower Antelope Canyon tends to be less crowded than the Upper Antelope Canyon and is preferred by many because of its narrow canyon walls and ladders that take you to the levels that have been carved by flash floods from the upper mesas. The sandstone walls are exquisitely formed, and the Lower Antelope Canyon offers a longer canyon exploration.

Drove to Page Arizona only to find out the tour was canceled due to rain Rescheduled for the next day and it was canceled again

Our Navajo guide was amazing. It was hot that day but cool in the canyon and the pace was fine. The stairs are not an issue and I have balance problems so that was great.

This is a review about the third party - Thunder Travel. The staff at Dixie’s Tours were amazing. Unfortunately I did not realize that I had purchased tickets through a third-party. Day of, I realize there is no address given as a meeting point, there is no name of a tour company listed in the email. When I called the customer service number - no one answered and I could only leave a voicemail. After spending 15 minutes driving up and down the road, being turned away from one area and randomly finding Dixie’s Tour - we were late for our tour and they could not accommodate. This is not the fault of Dixie’s Tours - Thunder Travel was negligent in providing the needed information. I called the customer service number again, and a female voice said hello. They did not identify themselves as being with Thunder Travel , and I had to ask if I had reached the correct party. The following conversation is too long to relate here, but I will be disputing these charges. I’m sure this is an amazing tour, but please just contact Dixie tours directly and do not make the same mistake I did in dealing with Thunder Travel.
