Swimsuits and shorts work best. Secure shoes with a heel-strap are required (tennis shoes, water shoes, or sport sandals with a heel-strap). Bare feet and flip-flops are not allowed. Don't forget to bring a change of clothes and a towel

What To Expect

Pigeon River

We have a big facility with picnic tables and a food truck, plenty of parking. We are located by the Pigeon river and there is a campground right next to us.

Smoky Mountain Outdoors Rafting

The River Outpost is where all customers check in to go down the river. Everyone needs to show up 45 minutes before there schedule time in order to check in.

Cancellation Policy

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

We did the lower Pigeon River rafting tour. We had booked this one instead of the upper, as we were going to have 2 older family members with us. They decided to not join us on the vacation this year due to Covid. SMO refunded their tickets with no problems. we went ahead and did the lower tour, it was lots of fun. Great scenery, relaxing time on the river. Our guide Josh was great with the 3 of us and also with the other family that was with us. The 2 smaller kids, got to jump out and take a quick dip in the water, then Josh pulled them back up in to the raft. We did not have time this trip, but next time we will try the upper tour. I would highly recommend SMO for rafting adventures.

I want to start by saying, I am SO GLAD we pre-purchased the photos. I don't know how they got all those pics, but they were available on the link they sent us, right away. This place is so well organized; amazing how they push through hundreds of people at a time. The staff are so lively and happy, knowledgeable and always have safety first. What a classy operation! You can tell these people enjoy and appreciate their job! We loved our guide Tanner; he was so interactive and made sure everyone had a great time. The trip was the perfect amount of excitement and relaxing - we did the moderate trip - 3,4,5's. We would do it again in a heartbeat!
