Swimsuits and shorts work best. Secure shoes with a heel-strap are required (tennis shoes, water shoes, or sport sandals with a heel-strap). Bare feet and flip-flops are not allowed. Don't forget to bring a change of clothes and a towel

Pigeon River
We have a big facility with picnic tables and a food truck, plenty of parking.
We are located by the Pigeon river and there is a campground right next to us.

Smoky Mountain Outdoors Rafting
The River Outpost is where all customers check in to go down the river.
Everyone needs to show up 45 minutes before there schedule time in order to check in.

We did the lower Pigeon which has class 1 and 2 as we had an older and younger rider. It was fun but a bit tame for the teenager. Nice scenery. Our guide was adequate but didn't add much. I was upset that our reserved tour was more than an hour late getting started and so we sat around almost two hours. So rafting is a great thing to do in this area but not sure this is the best outfit.

Sorry to hear this. I don't know why you had to wait. If you booked through us in Reservations, we would have told you the teenager wouldn't like it and split you up for Lower and Upper. The wait time could have been due to late release at the dam. You didn't give the name of your guide so we could make a difference.
Again, sorry it wasn't what you thought. The lower is geared for 3 years old and up. Just a float basically.
Maybe you will come back and ride the Upper. Thanks for coming with us. Glad the guide got you back safe and sound.

Good experience but we wish we did the upper river. Lower feels like a float trip. It’s for very young kids. Guide was great and tried his best to get us some action.

Yes, it is basically a float trip. It is for 3 years old and up. If you want action, you have to ride the Upper. Makes for a good excuse to come back!! Glad you had a good time anyway.

This was the perfect first rafting experience for most of us! They wear some fun, yet short distance rapids for a sense of adventure. In between there were some calm spots through beautiful scenery. Oaks was our guide. He showed that safety was his first priority, he was efficient with his instructions and guidance and he was productive in showing us a good time! He was funny and very personable!
