I highly recommend the Plantation Owner's Dinner and Show package, which starts with a dinner at Gaylord's. I chose it after reading the reviews of others complaining about the rushed food at the Luau. We had a terrific server at Gaylord's with true Kauai aloha spirit and the specific menu for this package sort of samples Gaylord's amazing menu, it gives you a choice of 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 2 desserts and everything was fabulous, they even made a special non-alcoholic bubbly drink for our teen boys to go with the champagne for my wife and me. Honestly, we didn't realize just how compressed our time schedule would be and were just relaxing, enjoying the meal when a gentleman dining at the table next to us, who identified himself as one of the restaurant management, pointed out that the other folks in our package had already been led over to the Luau and we better catch up. He got our server to get us an escort who took us right over the Luau and we got amazing seats in the very first row of tables near the front, there was nothing between us and the show, which was breathtaking, the performers were outstanding and you could tell they wanted to share the history of this amazing place through story, song and dance. Thoroughly enjoyable family evening!
