In June 2018 Kauai Sea Tours offered a Lucky Lady tour in the afternoon, with snorkeling plus dinner (rather than lunch), which was teriyaki chicken, salad, vegs, plus cookies for desert, plus MaiTais and/or beer, wine, soft drinks. So I'd suggest checking with the office to find your options for the day and time of day you wish to travel. We wanted to see the Na Pali coast from the sea, although we didn't want to snorkel so we just stayed on the catamaran for the 45-minute snorkeling stop. The captain took the ship fairly far up the Na Pali coast after the snorkeling stop. The afternoon sunlight on the cliffs was spectacular; the trip well worth the cost. Neither husband nor I became seasick, although the catamaran moved enough that it was always advisable when underway to keep seated! I took Dramamine but husband did not. Some people on our trip were sick, so be forewarned (or take Dramamine). The Lucky Lady seems to be one of the larger catamarans, and I'd pick a larger catamaran rather than the smaller we also saw if you're worried about waves and the sea.

The captain took the Lucky Lady out in unsafe waters. Very windy and choppy. This tour should have been cancelled. The captain was paying more attention to the bleached blonde lady he allowed to sit in the captain's seat, both going and returning, than the condition of the waters/wind in my opinion. I had followed the instructions to stand straight legged and hold on. Despite following instructions, I took a hard fall. If I hadn't been holding on I would have flipped out. Many people were sick and vomiting, including children. Upon arriving to the snorkel site, the waters were too windy so the captain continued the boat ride up the coast. When the captain stopped to snorkel at the same spot as previous, he stated the water will be "challenging". If you were new to snorkeling or a beginner, to not go in the water. He also stated this isn't the best spot to see lots of colorful fish or corals. We are experienced snorkelers and did not stay in the water, as to unsafe. Also, the captain was correct, not much to see. We booked this tour for the snorkeling experience, which we did not get. When we arrived back to the pier, the captain knowing how challenging the waters were, went right back out with the evening tour. We booked this specific tour based on the hotels recommendations. I provided the hotel with our feedback. I was informed the concierges had also fallen on this tour a few weeks back.

we wanted to see Na Pali. I was unsuccessful in booking something before our arrival and therefore was asking locals about different companies. The Alamo driver summed it up for me. He said, "Do you want to keep your dinner or just eat it?" The implication was that morning is less windy and therefore smoother vs later when the sea is rougher. We choose the morning. Choice of our cruiser fell to a serendipitous deal from our timeshare. We were fortunate to get Kauai Sea Tours and we went in the morning. we had a beautiful day. the ride out accompanied by other companies' catamarans as well, we snorkeled (they provide all needed equipment) before we got to Na Pali because it was a windy day and I agree with the captain's decision as it was windier on the Na Pali coast. we stopped in an area providing excellent viewing of fish and turtles for the snorkelers. the good captain must like the wild life as he also stopped with other ships for spinner dolphins. hope you see lots of them. most entertaining. on the way and when we reached the Na Pali, Captain John showed his enjoyment and depth of knowledge of both the Na Pali and contiguous coastlines. he knew the names of beaches, their history in stories, names of caves and streams of water coming off the cliffs. Narration was interesting and focused. the Na Pali coastline is magnificent and please try to make sure you see it. There is nothing I've seen like it; please let me know the alternatives and where they exist. can't say enough about the crew. not only were they fun & entertaining & provided good food but they took such good care of us. Taking care of swell unaccustomed passengers appears to be a specialty among them between steadying people getting ready to fall and providing accommodations for those who could not handle the seas, this crew was the best. I was impressed by the way they saw what needed to be attended to. Thanks to all; it was very much appreciated.
