Overview

We offer the best wine tasting tours to Guadalupe Valley starting from San Diego! You will visit three artisan wine makers in the heart of the valley where you will enjoy tastings of delicious reds, whites and roses. You will experience a tour of the wine making process and enjoy a succulent BajaMed style lunch at Finca Altozano. Tour starts at 9:00am and back in San Diego by 7:30pm. Times are approximations, wineries and restaurant subject to change based on availability and weather conditions. This is a Private tour. You will have a private van for your party. No strangers. Minimum of four passengers per booking needed. Due to covid-19 we are not running public tours, only private tours. Public tours will resume after January, 2021.

What To Expect

Chula Vista

This is the meeting location. Public tours depart at 9:00am from E Street trolley station in Chula Vista, San Diego. For private tours with seven or less passengers we can pick you up at your home or hotel as long as you are south of Mission Valley. For groups of 8 or more the meeting location may be in San Ysidro or Chula Vista.

El Mirador

Stop over at El Mirador for restroom break and chance to take pictures and enjoy the view of the bay of Todos los Santos, Ensenada. Time to enjoy some traditional Mexican candy from vendors

Villa Montefiori

11:00 am Visit to First winery in Valle de Guadalupe for wine tastings. Wineries change in every tour. Wineries to be determined by operator.

Baron Balche

12:00 pm Visit to Second winery for more wine tastings and tour of the wine making process. Cheese platter will be served with wine. Wineries subject to change based on availability.

Vina de liceaga

4:00 pm Visit to Third and last winery for more wine tastings and relaxation.

Had a wonderful day with Mario/Baja California Wine Tours. On the ride from San Diego to the valley, he provided local points of interest and historical references. He clearly knows his way around the area and we encountered friendly sommeliers and salespeople at each stop. The outdoor restaurant had excellent food (definitely try the steak…and the bread was memorable) and a lovely view of the valley. Extra bonus - you can pet goats after your meal and grab a gelato! Thank you Mario, for putting up with the giggly pair of us and we hope to get back down for a sailing adventure soon!

A must for visitors to San Diego. The best trip ever. Mario has the perfect set up for anyone looking for a fun filled day in Mexico tasting some of the finest wines

I loved that this was such a relaxing trip, and Mario was thorough and very helpful in explaining about each winery and important part of the trip. My friend and I booked this tour, showed up in SD for the trip, and Mario kept us feeling entertained and safe. We visited Villa Montefiori, Baron Balche, lunch at Finca Altozano, and Viñas de Liceaga. At the second winery, we had a cheese plate, and lunch at the winery after that was fantastic. I would highly recommend this trip, just for the aspect of not having to plan and having a knowledgeable tour guide take us through the area. The vans we used were very comfortable and new, and I appreciate that there were bathroom stops along the way. Would totally do this again!
