My husband and I were on our honeymoon on the Big Island when we decided to stop by the sanctuary. Ray, who is a very knowledgeable, kind individual, and a wonderful educator, gave us an interactive private tour around the property. We were able to meet and meaningfully interact with so many of the wonderful animals under the sanctuary's care, including Apache, Lily and Oliver, Janice and Tom, Bruce, Jo and Nimbus, and the sweet kitties, Henry and Susie just to name a few!! Apache was so sweet - he was giving my husband kisses and came over to nuzzle me after I got scared by a bee that was trying to befriend my elbow! :) Lily and Oliver also greeted us warmly and didn't want us to stop giving them pets!! It was so heartwarming to hear their rescue stories and see how happy these sweet creatures were at the sanctuary!! The sanctuary truly does wonderful and magical work saving and caring for these sweet animals. Will definitely be coming back the next time we're on the Big Island!!! :)
