A mother whale and her calf surfaced 30 feet from our kayak group, and then she swam around us! We also saw other whales breaching and waving their tails. And if that wasn’t enough, when we went snorkeling, there were so many turtles that we had to move out of their way! Most fun I’ve ever had in Maui in the last 40 years. John, our guide, is a 5 star A++ guy! We’ll be back next time, for sure!

Went on early morning kayak trip with John .. myself and two adult daughters .. We had a great experience . Saw whales from our kayak which was a thrill and snorkeled with sea turtles . We look for small group excursions and this was perfect .. had 8 people plus the great guide John . John was so kind and went to great effort to make sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. I was worried about getting back on the kayak after snorkeling and when i swam back to my kayak John was already waiting for me and it was no problem . He also took a great camera and we are looking forward to seeing the pictures he took. Trip is worth every penny and we will book with this company for sure on our next trip! Thanks John and Maui Kayaks .. it is a highlight of our trip to Maui .

Unfortunately our trip for the Kayak tour was cancelled because of weather and visibility conditions. Totally out of anyone's hands but as for the company (Maui Kayaks) I was really happy they cancelled the trip and were completely honest with us. We were told with the wind going on that day that we would be fighting current pretty hard for most of the trip and also the visibility underwater wouldn't have been that great. They offered to reschedule us but unfortunately we were leaving Maui early the next day. We got our refund, it was totally painless. As we were leaving, looking out the water it was VERY choppy that morning. A few other guide companies were still taking large groups out when we were leaving.. Really happy I did not book with them and instead went with the company that took customer experience over profit. A+ for these guys. Thanks Mike!
