We did this trip this morning, it was just four of us. John was an excellent guide. He is patient, and accommodating. We came across a number of Humpback whales and decided as a group we’d like to just watch them instead of snorkeling. He was happy to just go with what our group wanted. He is knowledgeable, entertaining and fun. This is very interactive and I highly recommend John and this kayak tour. 5 stars, plus for this tour. Well worth every penny and he deserved a tip.

Our tour guide, John Hess's knowledge and enthusiasm were fantastic. We saw a lot of whales, mainly from a distance until the very end when we came upon a mom and baby. They stayed right with us for quite awhile, it was awesome. The kayaking was an adventure also with the surf rolling and launching and beaching became a little intense. Great Day !

Getting to eye level with the Humpbacks is the best way to do it. John Hess knows just how to do that, his wealth of information and love for the sea creatures is outstanding. It was very refreshing, to listen to his heart felt love and appreciation of all of the creatures and the Hawaii culture. If you want your moneys worth book with him today. He is very consciences for everyone's safety and enjoys to lighten it up a bit too. We say many full breaches and were as close as 125 yards to some of the whales. The swells had the bottom churned up to much so we did not do any snorkelling but the Humps showcase more than made up for that. Thanks again John, Reggie. :)
