I went with my husband and 11-year old daughter. My husband and I have experience kayaking but not my daughter, and my husband and daughter had never snorkeled before. I went in a single and my husband and daughter went in a double. Our guide, John, made it a really great experience. He successfully guided us in launching from shore (on a day with some waves). We had a great time kayaking around looking for the clearest water and John told us all sorts of things about the island, the wildlife, and Hawaii culture in general. When we got to our snorkel spot, John helped us all to feel comfortable with our gear to make sure we had the best time. On several occasions he told my daughter what a great job she was doing and was very encouraging and kind. She had a blast! When we were snorkeling, John pointed out different wildlife he saw and really enhanced the experience. He successfully guided us back to shore (again with some waves) and he provided granola bar snacks for us at shore. He also gave us bottled water while out kayaking, which was very appreciated. We all had a wonderful time and I was especially happy that my daughter had such a great experience kayaking and snorkeling for the very first time.

We really enjoyed our day with John. He was incredibly knowledgeable and a great kayak instructor. We had our three children with us (14, 11 & 7) and they all felt comfortable out on the water and loved the day. I highly recommend this excursion.
