My wife and I did this our first day in Maui and it was the highlight of our trip. Neither of us had ever been snorkeling before, but our guide (John Hess) helped us learn really fast and feel comfortable in the water. We are really lucky and saw many green sea turtles who surfaced near us. We also say a manta ray which was amazing to witness in the wild. It was a magical experience, but everyone's tour will be different. We did the morning tour, and everyone seems to say that's when you see the most marine life.

Our extended family had the adventure of a lifetime! John, our guide, was most helpful and informative. He provided cultural interest stories, information and tricks for successfully leaving the kayaks to enter the water and re-enter the kayaks. Granted, we had all snorkeled previously, but John had tips that we had never heard before. We snorkeled among the sea turtles, and he did our trip in reverse order to avoid the crowds that all went first to Turtle Town. The equipment was great: back support in the kayaks, excellent snorkeling equipment, oars that were tethered to the kayaks, and plenty of water. This was a truly an adventure of a lifetime! There were so many beautiful underwater creatures pointed out to us that we felt it was a more informative and more beautiful excursion than snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef of Australia. We'll certainlly do this tour with the rest of our family next year.

I was nervous about this adventure, because I was a beginner and had small children ( ages 9,& 13 ) with me. However my guide assured us it would be fine, and it was. This activity was by far my favorite thing we’ve done while visiting Maui. Swimming with sea turtles was a dream of mine. Now I can say I have done it.
