John was a knowledgeable guide with 10 years' experience leading kayaking groups. He explained everything carefully and with a great sense of humor. From young kids to seniors, he was able to guide each of us to a memorable experience. We paddled out about 1/2 mile and got respectfully close to a group of whales that swam right near our kayaks! I have never seen whales so close up! We then were able to snorkel with turtles and fish back closer to shore. We went on the 7:00 tour and so glad we made the effort to do it early in the morning. One of the best experiences of our vacation in Maui.

Just a great trip, and Carlos was an amazing guide (including his lunch recommendation)! We had humpback whales surface just a few yards in front of our kayaks, the turtles were great, and the rest id the snorkeling was nice. If 7 am seems early, keep in mind that there were big boats with hundreds of snorkelers who showed up just as we finished.

Carlos was a great guide, teacher and photographer. After all the safety and kayak lessons, we paddled out to see not one, but three Whales. They actually passed under my kayak! We went towards shore and saw more than three turtles. He explained why they were there and why the fish were surrounding several. We finished out by trying to find eels and octopus in the bay, I'm really not a fan of either so I saw a lot of fish and other sea life. I believe just seeing the whales would make this kayak trip great but seeing everything else was a plus! BTW we were able to pay a small sum and get photos from the day! Thank you Carlos for a great adventure!
