Prior to leaving for vacation I booked a few tours. I love the outdoors and try to kayak and hike when exploring a new place. Of all the tours I booked on Maui the Makena kayaking and snorkeling tour was hands down my favorite and I was not expecting it. As promised we had a very small group- only 5 of us. Our guide was Carlos - a kind, warm, fun, and knowledgeable guide. Once on the water I was happy to be on our tour with Carlos vs the other companies. Carlos had a gentle and respectful approach when interacting with his "coworkers" (the turtles/whales). Carlos took us to great locations for whale watching from our kayaks. Once we were there he shared with us his approach- to be calm, quiet and put only good vibes out. I know it sounds cheesy but its true and it worked! Unlike the loud and large groups on the water, our small group of 5 had plenty to watch and take in. We saw plenty of whales and even baby whales. The snorkeling part was a plus because I thought the kayak part was going to be my favorite. We went to two locations for snorkeling and got lucky at both. The turtles are absolute magic. Again Carlos set us up and the entire group had an amazing experience. We all got to experience close interactions with turtles and take in the majestic views underwater. Each of us left happy and excited. Thank you Carlos for such a wonderful experience. Wish I had done it earlier on my vacation and probably would have down it twice.

We had a fabulous morning with Maui Kayaks! We visit Maui every February and this was our first time with a guided kayak tour. Our guide, Andres did an incredible job educating our group and making sure everyone was having a total blast. We swam with the turtles and found ourselves within 50 feet of a Humpback mom and her calf. We will, without a doubt, book this adventure again! Thanks Andres for your expertise and energy!

The guide was excellent - very knowledgeable and helpful and we tipped him well! The kayaking part of the trip is way too short. We launched from Lahaina. The coral reef is partially dead so snorkeling was sad. Probably saw 10 fish. We did see turtles and were lucky to see a monk seal. Overall I give this an average rating.
