John Shappell was our tour guide. He was funny, open and very knowledgeable about the sea and the animals. The water was cloudy from a recent storm. He offered that we could opt out. But, we stayed, and paddled around and learned a ton from him.

We had a wonderful experience and our guide Andres was fantastic! We were a large group with 4 young children (ages 5-8) and Andres was very thoughtful in making sure everyone had what they needed, felt comfortable and enjoyed themselves. We achieved our goal of swimming with turtles and I would absolutely do this again!

This could have been an unpleasant adventure but Carlos saved the day. My 9 year old was worried about getting in the water. He wanted to be closer to the shore. Carlos asked if he could go on the kayak with him. He was in the water in no time and enjoying it. My 7 year old was getting cold and was done snorkeling after he saw 10 turtles, 7 fish and an eel. Carlos gladly took him on his kayak. At one point he had both kids so my husband and I could enjoy our snorkeling adventure. This was my favorite outing on our trip to Maui. I highly recommend Maui Kayaks!
