Manatee and Dolphin Kayaking Encounter

Overview
It’s an encounter unlike any other as you spend the morning floating gently in the endangered manatee’s favorite lounging spots on the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. These friendly Florida herbivores just love to nuzzle, grip, and cuddle your kayak for a truly magical morning.

The kayaking adventure continues with a search for playful dolphins, often fishing actively nearby. As if beholding these majestic mammals in their element isn’t enough, you’ll likely enjoy many other Florida natives including pelicans, osprey, roseate spoonbills, horseshoe crabs, and even the occasional gator.

As visitors in the manatee’s natural habitat, you can expect to observe and study the famed Sea Cows. Keep in mind that we seek not to disturb, overwhelm, or disrupt the manatee’s natural behaviors, but rather let you experience them on their terms.

Good time to spend w/family. Follow directions they send in email to get there!! Bring sunscreen, & maybe a hat if you have thin or no hair. I wore a bathing suit w/shorts & water shoes which is perfect because you will get a little wet. Also, bring water to drink & be ready for some upper body type exercize. Got to see a lot of manatees, & some came right up to us. Didn't see any dolphins on our trip. Guides were friendly & informational. The only thing I didn't like was that I had to tandem w/my 16 yr. old. Both of us would have preferred to have our own kayak.

Went on the Playalinda and Pint Tour. What an experience getting up close with the manatees! And they didn't disappoint! They loved to play amongst themselves and with our kayaks! Danielle and Chandler were great tour guides.

I went on the 3-hour manatee/dolphin kayak tour, and it was incredible. Full stop. The kayaking alone was great, but add 40+ manatees and quite a few bumps to my kayak, and it was a day I'll never forget. I'll definitely come again -- and bring visitors whenever I have them! I just signed up for the bioluminescence tour for later this week. I'm hooked!
