Went on January 5, 2020 for the 10:30 AM manatee adventure. Had Captain Lance and Captain Miles (? or Mark ? - sorry) and they were both excellent. Person I was with stayed on the boat and had lovely converstaion. It was $75 to snorkel and $40 if you stay on the boat. Weather was at about 60 degrees but with the wetsuit on the water was very comfortable. Getting back in the boat after was a little chilly but the Captains were quick to provide hot coffee or hot chocolate and hot water to pour on our cold fee or down the front of our wetsuit. The captains provide lots of great information about the manatess and the environment. Very helpful. In the water Captain Lance was excellent - always trying to make sure we got close the manatees by pulling us in that direction if we needed help. He was also taking lots of photos and video with the Go-Pro camera, which you can purchase for $42 after the trip. I would have done so but there were technical issue with our video clips so did not buy. The manatees were plentiful and young manatee/baby was very curious and came up to our group and stayed there for quite a while. Lots of people in the water that day and I guess people from wherever can go in the water (outside of an official tour group). One of these people were ignorant and rude and breaking all the manatee rules by going into the protected area, kicking the manatee with their fins, and yelling and screaming. People in our group tried to get him stop and he just even more irate. A real jerk. Thankfully there are volunteers that watch from the river bank to report this type of jerk to the park rangers (hope he gets the $100,000 fine for breaking the rules!). But even that jerk could ruin the experience. Can't wait to do it again. If you do go independently of an official tour PLEASE follow these rules: - stay out the protected areas which are labeled as such - never approach or touch the manatees UNLESS they approach you and initiate the interaction. If you touch them at that time always be gentle - don't pull and tug at their fins. - Don't ride on them - Don't feed them. - Don't be loud and don't kick and splash. Many are sleeping and they get disturbed easily. - As Captain Lance said - do the dead mans float - and they are more likely to approach you. Be quiet and still. The experience as incredible and lasted about 2.5 hours but felt like it just flew by.

My friends and I booked a 7am snorkel tour with Plantation Adventure Center in early January and it was incredible! Check-in was quick and easy and we were each provided with a wetsuit and snorkel gear. We saw manatees at The Keyhole and at Three Sisters Springs! Memphis was our boat driver and Dustin was our snorkel guide - they were both very knowledgeable, courteous, and fun! We had an incredible time with the manatees - definitely an experience we will never forget!

Great morning tour with Captain John and Mike. Saw many, many manatees! Weather was perfect, wet suits nice and thick.
