Overview
I founded and own HONEST ECO. With Kentucky bluegrass roots and a B.S. in Biology, I found a world with a blue sea too alluring to ignore. I arrived to Key West in 2005. Now I have 10+ years of experience studying Biology and being on the water in Key West. I now own a small business with my wife and 2 young kids. We are trying to make a big impact by educating and leading by example. I'm very passionate about being respectful to the wildlife and the environment

We will begin this experience on a spacious 42' sailing catamaran. With 1,092 Square Feet of deck space, plenty of room to relax. We will depart from the dock located at the Historic Seaport. Sail out to a mangrove island that we can only reach in a shallow draft boat. You will learn about our Key West ecosystem as you Kayak through Mangrove Islands. We will explore the distinct habitats of the Key West National Wildlife Refuge and learn about our diverse animals and plants We will head to another one of our favorite spots to snorkel on the reef, coral heads or a sponge garden. We take you to the best spot with the best visibility that day. Your mate will lead you around a calm snorkeling spot and point out animals that make our ecosystem unique and answer any questions. Snacks is provided from our favorite organic cafe Date and Thyme.

My family and I went on the Nature Watch Eco Tour on 10-1-2015 and we had a great time! It was my family of 5 and one other really nice girl who was traveling alone, so it felt like a private trip where we got to make a new friend as a bonus. Our captain and guide, Evan, really did a wonderful job handling the boat and making us feel welcome, he was also awesome at finding wildlife that I probably wouldn't have spotted myself, providing us with an entertaining and educational experience. He did a lot to make the trip what it was (Thanks Captain Evan!). I really enjoyed kayaking. On top of what we saw, I found the information about the different types of mangroves and the surrounding wildlife to be really interesting, without being stuffy. I'm not big on snorkeling (although nice gear was provided for use) and chose instead to relax in the water with a water noodle (also provided). My siblings however loved the snorkeling and reported seeing a little nurse shark, angelfish, lobsters etc. which sounds like a success to me! Water and fruit was available. Evan chopped up a fruit tray and then later a vegetable and hummus tray which was great to have after snorkeling. At the end of the day, my favorite part of the trip was getting to enjoy the beautiful sunset from the boat with my family. It really was the perfect ending to a great trip! I look forward to a return trip to Key West in the near future and I will definitely be going out with Nature Watch again!

This tour had everything: dolphins, snorkeling, kayaking (even a shark that swam just under our kayak in the mangroves), sailing at sunset, great!

Very fun experience with children, especially kayaking although we found bad weather and rain. We got to see a lot of dolphins. Snorkeling does not deserve much for the seabed (little stuff) and the points already set and known. For the food on board there was everything, but little expected for Italian children; a little ham or cheese would have sufficed. Cost certainly high. Too bad about the sail we didn't use.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us! I'm glad to hear that despite the bad weather, you and your kids still had fun, especially enjoying the kayaking and seeing many dolphins. It's unfortunate that the snorkeling didn't meet your expectations due to the visibility. We appreciate your feedback on the food selection and will consider more varied options that could appeal to all ages and tastes. We always strive to provide value and a full experience, and we'll take your points into account to improve where we can. Thanks again for your feedback, and we hope to have another opportunity to welcome you aboard under better weather conditions!
