Mangroves and Manatees - Guided Kayak Eco Tour

Overview
Our tours are geared towards first time and new paddlers.  We go at your speed so you don't have to worry about going out and getting exhausted.  Grab a friend and come along for a unique adventure on the #1-rated Eco-Tour through the mangrove ecosystem. Choose your kayak - single or double - and glide in our shallow clear water over sponges, grass beds, and sandy patches. Looking down, you might see a small nurse shark, turtle, or stingray, or can observe dolphins and manatees. Above water, herons, pelicans, and ospreys settle on the mangroves and hunt for fish. While there are no guaranteed wildlife sightings, we always see something cool in this one-of-a-kind estuary ecosystem that starts right outside the back door of our shop.

We saw a stingray and two dolphins, along with a variety of fish and a nurse shark. Our guide was very nice, helpful, and gave us a lot of information about nature in the area.

This was a fun time. Becca, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable, and she educated us on the different types of mangroves and wildlife. We saw a parrot fish, crabs, herons, and Becca scooped out a jellyfish we all could hold. We took the morning tour, and there were 6 of us in 3 kayaks. You get your choice of single, double, or paddle board. We were in the shaded mangrove areas for most of the tour, so we were not very hot. Although sunscreen is recommended. Midway through, we stopped at a nice shallow area to swim or get cool. You do not have to be an expert kayaker to do this tour, but you are up close to the mangroves, and some areas were narrow. And if you were paddle boarding you would have to sit down in order to navigate. We did see any manatees, but we thoroughly enjoyed our time on the water. .
