Mangroves and Manatees - Guided Kayak Eco Tour

Overview
Our tours are geared towards first time and new paddlers.  We go at your speed so you don't have to worry about going out and getting exhausted.  Grab a friend and come along for a unique adventure on the #1-rated Eco-Tour through the mangrove ecosystem. Choose your kayak - single or double - and glide in our shallow clear water over sponges, grass beds, and sandy patches. Looking down, you might see a small nurse shark, turtle, or stingray, or can observe dolphins and manatees. Above water, herons, pelicans, and ospreys settle on the mangroves and hunt for fish. While there are no guaranteed wildlife sightings, we always see something cool in this one-of-a-kind estuary ecosystem that starts right outside the back door of our shop.

Didn’t get to see a whole lot but had a great workout and enjoyed the tour. Maybe just a little bit pricey and that is only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars.

Definitely worth a try, they also rent the items if you already know what you are doing and provide tour maps - might be good if you've done it before as that offers more time for free exploration. Our tour got off to a late start, because a couple kept going back and forth about whether they wanted to tour with our group or independently, which was a bit disappointing because it left us (pre-booked and paid) standing around waiting to get started. Our guide was GREAT, kind, patient, nice - nothing, but positives there. They strongly encourage individuals either buy a $20 floating phone case or leave items behind, so I have no pictures to show. Perhaps, they could rent or just include the floating bag as part of the equipment rental tour deal since you can buy them on Amazon for $5 - $10. We really didn't see much of anything on our tour, which was a bummer, but that isn't any fault of the company as nature does its own thing. The tour seemed a little short, we went into one mangrove canopy and came back out, but since we were new to kayaking it was ok for us, but it might have been disappointing to more experienced kayakers.

thanks for coming to visit us and thanks for taking the time to write a review. we only sell top quality floating phone bags that have proven to be reliable. the amazon cheapies have a high failure rate and considering a phone costs over $750 these days, we feel like having the best is important. we don't rent them or lend them out as we cannot guarantee they haven't been abused by the former user and especially in these times of social distancing we want to keep a little separation between people touching stuff. My apologies for the delay in starting as we do try and be prompt but sometimes we get it wrong. We do gear our tours for people who don't paddle much and encourage our more experienced paddlers to just rent and do their own thing as they tend to want to go farther or faster. Hope you make it back our way again someday as the manatees might perform for you. we had one right out the back door this morning.

Great experience. So neat to go into the mangroves and see part of this beautiful world. I would be a bit worried about getting lost in there on my own so it was really great to have a knowledgeable guide. My suggestions would be to take this tour and also would suggest to do it with kayaks unless very experienced with paddle boards. I am convinced that we went farther into the mangroves with kayaks than we could have with paddle boards. This was a must do trip in my opinion. Paddle the Florida keys was a great company to go with.
