Manhattan Architecture Yacht Cruise

Overview
Step aboard the teak decks of elegant 1920s style yachts, Manhattan or Manhattan II, and enjoy a 2.75 hour cruise while learning about NYC's architectural landmarks from the water. The "Around Manhattan" tour narration, provided by members of the American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) NYC chapter, is general enough for visitors yet detailed enough for the locals.
Experience a comfortable and unique tour through the Hudson, East, and Harlem Rivers from a glassed-in observatory cabin, which has sliding windows for a fresh breeze, or wander to an open bow for more unobstructed views of the surrounding sites. On this cruise, guests will circumnavigate the island of Manhattan, passing under all 18 bridges, while taking in monuments, architecture, parks and infrastructure with narration throughout the cruise.

Important note: select departures on Friday afternoons will focus on Climate Change in and around New York City. Please call the operator directly for questions on the tour theme.

This was the highlight of our visit! Our relatives who grew up in the area appreciated the tour as much as we did, learned previously unknown facts & saw new perspectives as we circumnavigated Manhattan. The exquisite vessel, informative AIA narration, crew, hors d'oeuvres & drinks were all exceptional. This tour would be worth repeating. It was phenomenal!

We've been on the architecture cruise a several times, with different friends, and learn lots more each time. The architects are knowledgeable, articulate, and full of information. Views from the boat are splendid, and the acoustics are state-of-the-art. Loved it, and will come back again. Even the snacks and beverages were great.

We had a wonderful time and were blessed with the most perfect weather. It was very interesting to hear from an architect about the buildings visible from the Hudson and East rivers as we circumvented the island of Manhattan. He spoke about the history of the buildings and also described the more current development. The boat was very comfortable and all guests had plenty of room to move about. You had your choice of inside or outside seating. It was not crowded at all. They served a complimentary snack and your first beverage was free. You could also order additional beverages (including alcoholic) and food. The bathrooms were also very clean and well appointed. It was 2 3/4 hours long and for some that might have been a little long as conversation picked up toward the end. The staff was very attentive. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone except perhaps those with small children.
